How to Decorate Great White Shark Cookies
Folks won't be able to resist taking a bite out of these great white shark cookies! Bake them to celebrate Shark Week, birthdays, pool parties, and more!

Bake and cool cookies before decorating. Make sure cookies are fully cooled. If they are warm, the icing will run off of them. Make royal icing. Learn how to mix different consistencies of royal icing here>>
Prepare the following icing colors:
Piping Consistency:
Gray (make gray by adding just a small amount of black to your icing, or mix black and white food coloring in your icing.)
White
Black (Optional if using a candy-see step 8)Flood Consistency:
Gray (make gray by adding just a small amount of black to your icing, or mix black and white food coloring in your icing.)

2Outline top portion of the shark with gray piping consistency royal icing as shown. Only outline about the top ‚Öî of the shape, as you want to leave space for a white underside. Be sure to outline the fin shape with gray piping consistency icing as shown.

3Outline bottom portion of the shark with white piping consistency royal icing as shown.

4Fill the top portion of the shark with gray flood consistency icing. Pipe some squiggles of icing inside the shape so that your icing does not collapse. Let this part air dry for a minimum of 30 minutes before moving onto the next step. Icing should be crusted over. If you move to the next step too soon, your icing may run together and you won't get sharp definition between the white and gray portions of the shark.

5Fill in the bottom portion of the shark with white flood consistency royal icing. Pipe some squiggles inside the shape to ensure the icing doesn't collapse as it cools.Let both sections dry a minimum of 1 hour before moving onto the next step.

6Using white piping consistency royal icing, pipe dots on the shark's mouth and then use a scribe tool, or toothpick, to gently drag the icing to create sharp teeth.

7Using gray outline consistency royal icing, pipe 3 identical curved lines between the shark's mouth and fin, as shown. These will be the gills of the shark.

Using black outline consistency royal icing, pipe a small dot above the last tooth for the shark's eye. Alternatively, you can use a small candy or nonpareils to create the eye.
